Mullen's rich history
A 56-year commitment
On August 9, 1945 Southern Textile News (STN) published its first issue. STN was founded by John M. Mullen to provide a voice for the textiles industry, which was primarily based south of the Mason-Dixon Line by then. STN has provided continuous and timely coverage, of events affecting the textiles industry, on a weekly basis. Today, the award-winning tabloid-size newspaper has a global readership of about 20,000. It provides reports on all facets of textile machinery and manufacturing and is bolstered by a companion web site, www.textilenews.com. STN is published by Mullen Publications, Inc. (MPI), the parent company created in 1965.
MPI specializes in printing non-heat-set (cold-set) web products. We produce tabloid-size (we do other sizes also) newspapers and newsletters for large corporations, universities, schools, churches, political and nonprofit organizations throughout the region.
Our commitment to quality, timely, cost-effective printing and superior customer service has helped build a base of more than 80 clients.
We utilize a 6-unit, 12-fountain Goss Community web press with full color capabilities. We also offer a variety of graphics and pre-press services including high resolution scanning, photo manipulation, film output and full creative design services.
In all of our areas of expertise, our focus is providing quality services and working with the customer to exceed their expectations. This attention to detail has paid off in growth, a lengthy list of awards, and a long standing and loyal customer base. In fact, several of our current customers were there when we began.
We continue to expand and upgrade to keep up in the ever evolving publishing industry, but one thing will always remain the same: our commitment to the people MPI and STN touches every day. We are here because of you.
